About Teak

Teak is one of the most durable and stable hardwoods in the world. Our outdoor teak furniture is manufactured to the highest quality standards using only 100% FSC® certified plantation teakwood. Due to its high density and natural oil content, teak is extremely stable and resistant to decay even when exposed to the elements.

Natural Weathering

When left outdoors, teak furniture will naturally weather to a silver-grey colour as the pigments in the surface layer of the wood begin to fade away. You will begin to notice this 'greying' after a few months, depending on the amount of sunlight and rain exposure. It will take around 12 months for the teak to weather completely.

Even after many years, naturally weathered premium grade teak will remain in excellent structural condition.

Initial Treatment & Care

Important: Care requirements vary depending on your furniture's finish. Some teak and acacia products have natural finishes that require oiling, while others have painted or sealed finishes that do not.

Always refer to the specific care instructions included with your product (found in the carton or attached to the furniture). These instructions will tell you:

• Whether your product requires initial oiling after assembly
• The recommended type of oil or treatment product
• Frequency of re-application
• Any finish-specific care requirements

For natural finish teak/acacia requiring oil:

1. After unpacking/assembly, thoroughly wipe clean or brush to remove dust particles
2. Apply specialised timber furniture oil lightly using a rag or soft bristled brush
3. Wipe off excess oil and allow to dry for 4 hours
4. Wipe again with a clean rag to remove any excess oil that hasn't penetrated

Aluminium Furniture

Why Aluminium?

Powder-coated aluminium is an excellent material for outdoor furniture:

• Extremely lightweight: Easy to move and rearrange
• Very durable: Solid, reliable construction with protective powder coat finish
• Rust resistant: Won't corrode over time, ideal for coastal areas
• Minimal maintenance: Very little upkeep required

Care Instructions

• Daily care: Wipe clean with a soft, dry cloth
• Regular cleaning: Clean monthly with sponge and mild detergent solution. Rinse thoroughly with fresh water
• Avoid: Abrasive chemicals, harsh cleaners, rough cleaning pads, and polishes
• Protection: Use furniture covers when exposed to direct sunlight or extreme weather

PE Wicker Furniture

About PE Wicker

Polyethylene wicker is a synthetic weaving material specifically designed for outdoor use. It provides endless colour options and styles without the poor durability of natural materials like cane or water hyacinth. UV blockers are added during manufacturing to protect from sun damage.

Care Instructions

• Limit sun exposure: While UV-resistant, avoid prolonged direct sunlight when possible to prolong lifespan
• Daily care: Wipe clean with a soft, dry cloth
• Deep cleaning: Rinse with fresh water or clean with sponge and mild detergent as needed
• Avoid: Abrasive chemicals, harsh cleaners, rough cleaning pads
• Protection: Use furniture covers when not in use, especially in direct sunlight
• Minor repairs: If small amounts of wicker pull away from the frame, apply clear outdoor silicone to the frame, wrap the wicker back on, and hold with masking tape until dry

Note: PE wicker under glass should not be exposed to UV light through glass, as this is not covered under warranty.

Cushions & Textiles

General Care

• Keep dry: Remove or cover cushions during rain
• Vacuum regularly: Removes dust and prevents dirt buildup
• Avoid prolonged sun exposure: Prevents fading
• Store when not in use: Extends lifespan significantly
• Use protective covers: Especially important for cushions in direct weather exposure

Cleaning Cushions

1. Brush away loose dirt before cleaning (prevents rubbing dirt into fabric)
2. Spot clean stains immediately with mild cleanser
3. For general cleaning, use mild cleanser and soft cloth
4. Rinse thoroughly with fresh water
5. Allow filling to dry completely before use

Important:

• Do NOT use solvent-type cleaners
• Do NOT machine wash or dry clean
• Never apply heat to cushion fabrics
• Sunscreen, tanning oils, and sun lotions can stain - use towels for protection

Mould Prevention

Mould may grow if cushions are stored wet or subjected to prolonged wet conditions. To prevent mould:

• Always dry cushions completely before storage
• Store in well-ventilated area
• Use furniture covers to keep dry
• Consider applying fabric guard/protection treatment for cushions in full weather exposure

Glass & Ceramic

Glass Tabletops

• Clean regularly: Use glass cleaner with soft cloth
• Protect from heat: Always use mats or trivets under hot items
• Prevent scratches: Use coasters and placemats; never use glass as a chopping surface
• Handle carefully: Never lift glass from table ends; don't sit or stand on glass
• Avoid extreme temperatures: Keep out of direct sunlight; don't expose to temperatures exceeding 35°C

Ceramic Tops

• Daily care: Wipe with soft, damp cloth
• Protect surfaces: Use coasters, placemats, and trivets
• Clean spills immediately: Prevents staining
• Avoid: Abrasive cleaners, harsh chemicals, rough scrubbing

General Tips for All Outdoor Furniture

• Use furniture covers: When not in use, especially during storms or extended periods
• Avoid extreme weather: Bring cushions inside during heavy rain, strong winds, or hail
• Regular cleaning: Prevents buildup of salt, pollutants, and dirt that can cause damage
• Proper storage: During winter or wet seasons, store in cool, well-ventilated areas
• Check hardware: Regularly tighten bolts and fittings for optimal performance and durability
